At first I found design of these stations annoying, but right now I think it's quite brilliant. Probably a safe bet that in-atmo flight will be a separate instance to orbital. Fuel is automatically refilled when you dock at any port. If you pay attention to rotation for like few seconds, it becomes very easy to figure out where entrance is. Firstly, its important to remember that not all planets can be approached. I had huge problem finding entrance myself when I just started playing, and some of you guys, shame don't remember who, told me that Coriolis station has an orbit, and one side of it never rotates, just spins in place. If inside multicrew, one player can fly an SLF while you can deploy your AI crew in the other fighter. Once you’re out of glide, get a feel for how fast you descend, and at 2km above the surface, just start being real real careful. Ships equipped with the Planetary Approach Suite may land on the surface of certain Terrestrial Planets. Some types of Terrestrial Planets support life or meet the conditions necessary for terraforming. ![]() 5G planet can kill you if you’re descending too fast, but the higher the gravity, the easier it is to explode. There are two main categories of planets: Terrestrial Planets and Gas Giants. I'm sure nobody would have any problem docking either Ocellus or Orbis stations, but I imagine Coriolis can be. Check the gravity of the world in the info tab of the system map by hovering over the planet. The Elite universe contains eight galaxies, each with 256 planets to explore. ![]() A work-around is to load the base game, without Horizons. The original BBC version used a novel split screen approach to show four. Keep flying in that direction, until another mass lock is cleared. Then you will be able to jump out to a supercruise. Even in ships like T9, because in SC it barely turns, while in space it's a lot easier to handle + faster + FA off you really need tight turning. First you need to climb up a little, to get away from the planets mass lock. Lining up before SC drop was always much slower to me than getting into place when in station space. Next just rotate ship to align with rotating mail slot and do NOT deploy landing gear until inside station. ![]() Then, slow down within blue zone on speed indicator after getting docking request.
